Police in Queens are on the hunt for the suspect who stabbed a woman at a bus stop on Monday morning in an unprovoked attack.
The NYPD released video footage Wednesday morning of the perpetrator behind the heinous assault at 6:15 a.m. on March 16 near the corner of 23rd Avenue and 94th Street in East Elmhurst.
Law enforcement sources said the fiend displayed a knife and, without saying anything, approached the 29-year-old woman from behind and, in seconds, began stabbing her in the back and hand on the sidewalk.
Following the attack, he fled the scene to parts unknown, cops said. The video footage shows the suspect wearing all black clothing and walking down an area sidewalk while rubbing his face.
The incident was reported to the 115th Precinct. EMS rushed the victim to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
“She called me, saying mommy, I’m hurt. I’ve been stabbed,” the victim’s mother told ABC7.
As the frantic search continues, police are asking anyone who recognizes the perpetrator to come forward.
