Apple’s next wearable tipped to be an AI pin with cameras

Fancy an Apple-branded wearable AI pin? A new report suggests Apple is working on a compact AI-powered pin, roughly the size of an AirTag. If it makes it to market, the device would mark Apple’s first product built primarily around AI and could run the revamped Siri chatbot.

According to a report from The Information, the wearable is still in development, though the project could face delays or even be shelved altogether.

The AI pin is reportedly circular in shape, closely resembling the AirTag in both size and design, with an aluminum-and-glass construction. It is said to feature wide and ultra-wide cameras on the front, along with three microphones and a built-in loudspeaker. A side-mounted button will handle physical controls.

The wearable is said to support video recording, photo capture, ambient audio detection, and audio playback. It is also tipped to offer wireless charging.

As per the report, it’s still uncertain whether Apple plans to offer the AI pin as an accessory alongside its existing products or sell it independently. It is expected to be announced in 2027, although as mentioned earlier, it could face delays or even be cancelled.

AI pins haven’t really done well in recent years, with the Humane AI pin serving as a clear example. It remains to be seen whether Apple can succeed where others have struggled.

That said, interest in AI-powered wearables hasn’t faded. Other companies are still exploring similar concepts, including OpenAI, which is reportedly developing a smart pen–like device, alongside other AI-driven accessories.
