ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Halton MEI USA Inc., an indoor environment designer, will open its first South Carolina facility in August.

Halton’s new facility is at 120 Exchange Logistics Park Dr., in Piedmont. It cost $2.6 million and will create 65 new jobs.

Halton is a family-owned business founded in Finland. It is a leader in indoor climate technology.

Halton designs, manufactures, and delivers indoor environment products in over 35 countries to customers working in demanding spaces like marine, energy, and heavy industry environments.

Halton Marine Managing Director Sami Piirainen said, “Establishing a manufacturing facility in North America aligns with our growth strategy, especially for the green transition, supporting our customers’ needs for local supplies and local content. Our team worked closely with the state of South Carolina, the county of Anderson and the Upstate Alliance business development team. Their collective efforts and cooperation were instrumental in determining the optimal location for our investment.”

The SC Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $100,000 set-aside grant to Anderson County to help take on the costs of building improvements for the facility.

Governor Henry McMaster said, “South Carolina’s strong reputation in advanced manufacturing makes it the perfect location for Halton’s new operation and $2.6 million investment. We are proud to welcome the company to Anderson County and look forward to working together in the years ahead.”
