Zara will open its first North Carolina store at SouthPark Mall in 2026. A fast-fashion retail subsidiary of the Spain-based retailing group Inditex, the store sells clothing, accessories, beauty products and perfumes.

The Charlotte store will be the “first-to-market” location in the state, which usually means another location is in the works. As of April, there were 103 Zara stores located in 26 states and territories and 78 cities.

California boasts 24 stores and New York City has 10 locations. The closest location to North Carolina is in Atlanta.

“Charlotteans have long awaited the arrival of Zara, and the buzz surrounding its opening at SouthPark Mall is palpable,” said Holly Roberson Van Cleave, director of marketing and business development at SouthPark. The Zara will be near a mall entrance to Belk.

Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group owns SouthPark Mall.

Inditex posted a 7.1% increase in its first quarter sales, to $8.9 billion, and an 11.1% increase in its pretax profits. The company has a market cap of $156.8 billion.
