HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Traffic is halted and being diverted as a result of a vehicle fire on Interstate 85 Business/US 29/US 70.
Video on Business 85 shows an overturned tractor-trailer bursting with flames on the side of the road under a bridge and traffic being diverted.
There appears to be some form of debris falling in the area of the bridge and fire.
The crash is near Old Thomasville Road.
High Point police say that a hazmat crew has been called to the scene.
Guil-Rand Fire says that two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and that the fire has been put out.
The southbound lanes of Business 85 will remain closed for an extended period of time.
Officials with the North Carolina Department of Transportation are assessing the damage to the bridge and North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
