We are looking for a Mechanic Assistant to join our team, specializing in mobile repairs and transportation of vehicles in the Catskill Mountains area. As a Mechanic Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide support to our small engine mechanics by assisting with repairs and transporting vehicles to the garage when on-site repairs are not possible. You will be required to drive to customer locations and perform basic repairs or safely transport the vehicle to our garage.
Responsibilities:
- Assist small engine mechanics in diagnosing and repairing golf carts, ATVs, and four wheelers.
- Conduct basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing batteries, spark plugs, and filters.
- Safely drive to customer locations using provided company vehicle.
- Transport vehicles to the garage for extensive repairs or when on-site repairs are not feasible.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle and tools.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on-site or driving.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate with customers professionally.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of services provided and repairs performed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in small engine technology.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a mechanic assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of small engine systems and components.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks under the supervision of a mechanic.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job.
- Familiarity with the Catskill Mountains area is a plus.
